St Hilda´s church on the Headland of Hartepool, Durham, UK, August 2012
The church was built in the late 12th century, parts of it belonged to an earlier Norman church. Before that there was a monastery on the Headland which was founded in 640. ONe of the first abbesses was Hilda who later became St. Hilda of Whitby Abbey.
